The $14,400 day

So many people use the excuse that they are too busy to do this or do that. They are the same people that are always late. “Oh, things are crazy. Sorry I’m late.” I bet if I told them to be somewhere at 8am tomorrow morning and I would give them $14,400 dollars no strings attached, I bet they would be there at 7:45am. If someone offered me that kind of money for free, I’d be there.

So let’s frame it a different way. What if I give you $14,400 tomorrow morning but you had to spend every dollar within 24 hours. You could do it, couldn’t you? You wouldn’t worry about all the things you typically worry about. You wouldn’t complain as much, you would just think of ways to spend the money that would benefit your life and the ones you love. You wouldn’t be thinking about all the problems you have or even worry about following the same routine you’ve followed for years. You wouldn’t even think about all the negative things you normally think of. You wouldn’t think about that person in your past that caused you pain or hold any resentment or negative thoughts what so ever. I mean, you have $14,400 to spend and only 24 hours to do. Those other things are just not even work caring about at this point. Right?

Well I believe that time is worth much more than money and you only get 14,400 minutes each day and most of us waste most of it on things that are out of our control. Why would you not treat minutes like dollars? You should. It may just be the last day you spend on this earth.  Imagine you’re on your death bed and all your unfulfilled dreams and goals are standing around your bed saying things like “Why did you give up on me?”

The biggest mistake is we think we have time. – Buddha

What have you been putting off? Isn’t it time to stop putting off what you know deep down inside is your destiny.  A recent study showed that 85% of people in the United States are going to jobs they hate. Are you one of the 85%? I’m not saying to quit your job. Just start spending a little time each day working on your gift. It is said that if you spend one hour a day on a new skill or goal, in 5 years you will be an expert in that field. Think about that. Start working towards your dream. Most people give up on their dreams because of fear. What are you afraid of? Everything you want from life is on the other side of fear.

Your time is limited, don’t spend it living someone elses life. – Steve Jobs

Every minute is precious because you cannot have even an extra minute if you want. A minute passed cannot be restored! Try to make as much out of the time that’s still left. Time is free of cost but it’s limited and cannot be accumulated. You can always get more money but you can never get more time. Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time.

Remember Time is free but it is priceless, you can use it but you can’t own it. You can’t keep it but you can spend it and once it’s lost you can never get it back. Go live your best life!
